Regionals:
Soccer, volleyball, cross country, etc... are all starting their state tournaments... all with BIG dreams of state finals! Marching Band is no different! This weekend, ISSMA Regionals, is step 1 of our state tournament. 10 bands from the north (@Lafayette Jeff HS) and 11 bands from the south (@Center Grove HS) will compete for 20 spots in ISSMA Semi-State. Yes, those numbers are in our favor 😉, but performance is still very important going into semi-state! No scores or placements will be announced this weekend at regionals (ISSMA rules). Only those bands moving on to ISSMA Semi-State will be announced (in no particular order).
Semi state is 10/30 at Ben Davis High School. From there, 10 bands move on to State Finals - November 6th at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Tickets: I do not have any info on purchasing tickets in advance, but will update here as soon as I have information.
Marching Millers perform at 6:45pm at Lafayette Jeff High School.
BOA "Bands Of America":
This is a national level contest that is completely separate from our ISSMA "state tournament". A chance for our band to perform in Lucas Oil Stadium along with some of the best marching bands from the region (bands from many different states travel to compete in BOA). Prelims are Friday afternoon and Saturday during the day. The top 14 bands are announced Saturday at 4pm, with finals to follow.
Please watch for an exact schedule from Mr. Thornbury, but here is a general idea of weekend plans.
Friday 10/22 - The Marching Millers will report to NHS Friday morning (time TBD) and perform at Lucas Oil Stadium sometime late afternoon.
*We will need Friday volunteers for chaperones and props! I know this is a work day for many. If you are able to help, we will need YOU! ☺️
Saturday 10/23 - The Marching Millers will report to NHS (Time TBD) and ride the bus down to Lucas Oil Stadium to watch the 4pm awards (announcement of the 14 finalists). IF we are one of the 14 finalists, we will perform Saturday evening in the Super Regional Finals. If we do not make the top 14, the band will eat dinner downtown and stay to watch the Super Regional Finals.
*Please watch for a schedule from Mr. Thornbury with exact times and details.
